How to buy enterprise MLM software without regret
A procurement playbook for direct-selling leaders replacing a system they have outgrown.
Run the process, not the demo
Write requirements before you take a single demo
Document your compensation plan, ranks, compliance obligations, integration points and non-negotiables first. Requirements written after demos are shaped by the vendor's pitch, not your business. A clear spec lets you compare vendors on the same terms.
Compare deployment models on your real constraints
Managed cloud, private cloud and on-premise trade off speed, control and cost differently. Score each against your data-residency, security and internal-operations reality — not against a generic best-practice list. The right answer for a sovereignty-bound company is wrong for one optimising for time-to-launch.
Prove payout accuracy before you sign
Insist on a proof of concept that runs your actual plan against sample data and reconciles the results. If a vendor cannot or will not demonstrate correct payouts on your rules, no contract language will fix that after go-live.
- Put SLAs in the contract: uptime, response, resolution, escalation
- Require reconciliation reports and parallel payout runs in the migration plan
- Confirm data residency and deployment region in writing
- Agree the support tier, named contacts and quarterly review cadence
- Model total cost of ownership across three years, not year one
